Case Study
A brief overview on how our therapies impacted the children.
Case Study 1
M was a 6 year old child with severe orometer sensory issues and food anxiety. Her mother would feed her liquid food in lying down position for a long time. This child would gag and vomit at the sight of solid food.
We worked on gradually reducing her general anxiety and moved on to the orometer process. With patience and 8 months of therapy we could minimize her sensory issues and the child is finally eating solid food in an erect sitting posture.
Case Study 2
S was a child with severe anxiety, and sensory issues. Fear of abandonment, limited attention and concentration were the other issues along with concerns from the school.
On evaluation, we found out the child would smartly manipulate the mother which went unnoticed by other doctors. We counselled the parents handling techniques and gradually the child’s anxiety level reduced and he learnt to self regulate.
Case Study 3
A was a 5 year old child diagnosed with autism. He had poor body awareness, low muscle tone, extreme fear of falling and poor balance reactions. He was from lower middle class family and the parents could not afford many sensory based instruments.
Sensory integration is possible with limited resources and without fancy equipment. The mother was taught home programs, proper demonstration of how therapies needs to be conducted at home with limited resources, what exercises needs to be done and setting right goals for the child.
Within a span of 3 months the child’s body awareness improved, play behavior enhanced and gravitational insecurity was completely eliminated.
